KOWASA gallery presenta "Energy" una retrospectiva dedicada a George S. Zimbel, fotógrafo norteamericano, residente en Canadá desde el 1971. Zimbel es una de las figuras más representativas de la última generación de autores de los años cincuenta que, fieles al legado de la Photo-League, “inyectaron” la fotografía documental con su compromiso personal hacia los paisajes sociales y las gentes que fotografiaban. La muestra ofrece una única oportunidad para descubrir la obra de un autor aún poco conocido en España, que captó con su cámara la energía y el espíritu de la “era de la inocencia” antes del fin inminente de ésta última con la guerra de Vietnam.

Zimbel is a key figure of the last generation of authors faithful to the legacy of Photo-League, who in the fifties imbued their pictures with their personal commitment towards the people and the social landscapes they documented. The show offers the unique opportunity of discovering the work of an author who captured with his camera the energy and the spirit of the “era of innocence” before its imminent end with the Vietnam War.
